Shell Canada Energy, on behalf of the joint venture participants in LNG Canada, today announced that PETRONAS, through its wholly-owned entity, the North Montney LNG Limited Partnership (“NMLLP”), will take an equity position in LNG Canada, pending regulatory approvals and subject to closing conditions. Ownership interest will be Shell 40%, PETRONAS 25%, PetroChina 15%, Diamond LNG Canada, an affiliate of Mitsubishi Corporation 15%, and Kogas Canada LNG 5%.

PETRONAS is a fully integrated company with extensive experience in LNG and a strong commitment to Canada through its wholly owned upstream energy company Progress Energy.

LNG Canada will continue to lead and execute the project as planned with our newly announced EPC contractor JGC Fluor, so the faces you see every day will remain the same, as will the commitments we’ve made to the community and First Nations throughout the regulatory review process.
