On the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and G…

On the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG), we reflect back to an event held in fall of last year to raise a MMIWG Memorial Tree in Kitimat.

LNG Canada recognizes the potential impact that large-scale resource development projects can have on vulnerable populations. We have incorporated Indigenous traditional knowledge into all aspects and stages of our project planning, assessment, implementation, management and monitoring. We are paying attention to the safety and well-being of vulnerable members of Indigenous communities, and to ensuring we create a diverse and inclusive workplace that is welcoming to women, to Indigenous people, and to all workers.

Today we honour the memory of the women and families affected.
