On October 5th, 2020, a Sisters in Spirit event was hosted at Cedar Valley Lodge, our workforce accommodation centre.

Sisters in Spirit events across Canada are to honour the memory and raise awareness of the more than 1,200 Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls in Canada, many of whom have not received justice. The event was part of the cultural programming offered at the Lodge.

A panel consisting of our Indigenous Relations Manager, Craig Hallden, and Indigenous Relations Advisor, Hope Regimbald, and Crystal Smith, Elected Chief Councillor of the Haisla Nation, Teresa Windsor, Community Cultural Coordinator, Haisla Nation, Ryan Franke, Local Content & Indigenous Relations Lead, JGC Fluor (our engineering, procurement and construction contractor) and Kirsten Godbout, General Manager, Sodexo (the operator of Cedar Valley Lodge) shared experiences, spoke about root causes and discussed how to effect positive change.
