How many of you know what “you want to be” when you grow up? Every year, Mount Elizabeth Secondary School organizes a career planning event for its Grade 10 students to help them explore various professions and this is the third year that the LNG Canada team is back in classrooms speaking about their career and educational journey. So far we’ve had Susannah Pierce – External Affairs Director, Trevor Feduniak – Project Site Manager, and David Pendrey – Construction Health and Safety Lead speak at the career planning class but there are more to come. One of the personal stories shared was from David. He went into the Health & Safety field when there was a high incident of injuries at worksites and he wanted to be part of making it safer so that everyone went home to their families. David said that “If you like science and math, there are many opportunities in the chemical engineering and technical safety sector. However, if it’s the people side of things that interests you, behavioral psychology and communications would be the field of study that would support your aspiration.”
